The Luxembourg Center for Architecture, better known as LUCA, is a private non-profit foundation with a clear mission: promoting architectural quality as a cultural fact. Through exhibitions, conferences, workshops and a documentation centre, it opens up the questions around our built environment to professionals, institutions and a young audience alike. A year of that work adds up to a lot of events, a lot of people and a lot of numbers, and LUCA needed an annual report that could tell the story with the same clarity and confidence as the architecture it champions.
We designed the report around a striking, high-contrast system: an acid yellow-green set against concrete greys and black, with diagonal stripes and cut corners that echo the angular language of the LUCA identity. The cover plays with oversized, geometric numerals that feel more like a structure than a date. Inside, data takes centre stage.
Audience breakdowns become bold bubble charts, programming figures stack into architectural blocks, and key numbers such as participants, visitors and events are set large enough to be read at a glance. Photography does the human work in between, with full-bleed images of packed conference rooms, workshops and the documentation centre reminding readers that behind every statistic is someone curious about the city around them.
The result is a report that is as useful as it is good-looking: clear to navigate for partners and funders, and distinctive enough to feel like LUCA from the first page to the last. We are proud to be part of the story of an institution that makes architecture a conversation for everyone.
